Prinsco Awarded “Project of the Year” by The Plastics Pipe Institute

Willmar, Minnesota – June 7, 2013: Prinsco was recently awarded, “Project of the Year” by The Plastics Pipe Institute (PPI), a major trade association representing all segments of the plastics piping industry.

Prinsco captured the title in the Corrugated Plastic Pipe Division for their Hillcrest Knoll Park Project in St. Paul, Minnesota. The project used more than 2,500 feet of 60-inch diameter Prinsco corrugated HDPE pipe to construct a retention system capable of storing 85,000 cubic feet of water. The system was installed underground at the Hillcrest Knoll Park, a public green space in the center of a residential area, in order to mitigate flooding issues with the park and bordering residences.

Prinsco’s Recyled Pipe – ECOFLO®100 – Approved as Virgin Equal

Willmar, Minnesota – January 18, 2013: Prinsco’s ECOFLO 100, the industry’s first recycled pipe with a 100 year service life, has been approved by the City of Indianapolis for use in storm water projects specifying HDPE pipe. This is a significant step forward in the acceptance of recycled products for use in high performance applications, and is made possible by Prinsco’s rigorous pursuit of excellence towards the advancement of polymer science technology.

ECOFLO 100 dual-wall pipe is made with a minimum of 40% recycled content and passed extensive review by Indianapolis Testing Laboratory to verify its 100 year service, past product performance and conformity to application standards. The results prompted the City of Indianapolis to update their previous specification, which required the use of only 100% virgin HDPE pipe. They are one of the first municipalities to specify ECOFLO 100 as a virgin HDPE equivalent, yet many are expected to follow.

Prinsco Partners with InnoTEK Services for High Performance Product Testing

Willmar, Minnesota – January 9, 2012: Prinsco announces today that it has dramatically raised the bar for performance testing by partnering with InnoTEK Services, LLC for advanced product testing and analysis services. InnoTEK Services, a company based out of Willmar, Minnesota, offers customized, high performance testing services to manufacturers in the water management industry.

InnoTEK Services will be working with Prinsco to perform pressure testing of their pipe, fittings, and related joining systems.  To this point, Prinsco has used in-house pipe joint testing equipment which was limited to 10.8 psi pressure standards.  While 10.8 psi joint testing has historically been sufficient for performance verification, it does not satisfy Prinsco’s new product development goals or the market trends toward higher performance levels.
