Abstract
The Quincy Townhomes development in Mill Creek, Utah required an underground stormwater retention solution to manage runoff beneath its parking areas. The site had previously been developed and existing trees, utilities, and parking area boundaries made careful planning a must.
Working with the project team, Prinsco contributed engineering support through the design and revision process. Additionally, the sales and engineering teams provided site support to the installing contractor, ensuring the tight planning and installation schedule was met.
The completed underground retention solution included 69 HydroStor® HS75 stormwater chambers, installed in three separate systems. This chamber system provides the new development with more than 6,500 cubic feet of underground stormwater retention.
This project demonstrates how stormwater management systems can be customized to meet site-specific requirements. By incorporating the chambers into a carefully engineered system, the development team created a solution that effectively retains stormwater without impacting existing site features.
Key Project Features
- Unique redevelopment site: Existing trees, utilities, and parking boundaries required a customized three-system solution.
- Large storage capacity: 69 HydroStor HS75 storm chambers were installed to provide more than 6,500 cubic feet of underground retention.
- Reliable construction: All chambers are manufactured to AASHTO Section 12 loading requirements and meet ASTM F2418 and ASTM F2787 standards.
- Simplified maintenance: The system includes a sediment row, which captures more than 80% of silt and sediment, reducing maintenance needs and extending system life.
