Prinsco Partners with InnoTEK Services for High Performance Product Testing

Willmar, Minnesota – January 9, 2012: Prinsco announces today that it has dramatically raised the bar for performance testing by partnering with InnoTEK Services, LLC for advanced product testing and analysis services. InnoTEK Services, a company based out of Willmar, Minnesota, offers customized, high performance testing services to manufacturers in the water management industry.

InnoTEK Services will be working with Prinsco to perform pressure testing of their pipe, fittings, and related joining systems.  To this point, Prinsco has used in-house pipe joint testing equipment which was limited to 10.8 psi pressure standards.  While 10.8 psi joint testing has historically been sufficient for performance verification, it does not satisfy Prinsco’s new product development goals or the market trends toward higher performance levels.

Prinsco’s initiative was the driving force behind the InnoTEK Services partnership.  “We are developing new products and refining our existing products in order to cater to the high performance needs of the construction and highway markets,” says Jamie Duininck, Vice President of Sales at Prinsco.

Last summer, InnoTEK Services began planning and constructing a state-of-the-art pressure-testing machine made to Prinsco’s specifications.  It was completed in December of 2011. The testing unit was constructed not only to meet current stormwater industry requirements but also more stringent requirements for applications requiring much greater performance. The equipment has the capability to test up to 72” diameter pipe and is designed to test pipe at pressures several times the current 10.8 psi requirement.

“This equipment is truly cutting edge and provides us the ability to scrutinize our pipe to levels yet unseen in the industry,” says Carl Douglass, Director of Engineering at Prinsco. “This allows us to continue our product development efforts and raise the bar for product performance, providing our customers with unparalleled solutions.”

Willmar, Minnesota – September 14, 2011: Prinsco Inc., manufacturer of premium water management products, is responding to this season’s overwhelming demand for agricultural drainage products with plans to open a new manufacturing plant in the upper Midwest’s Fargo/Moorhead area. It will be operational in January of 2012 and have two production lines, with plans for a third by the end of that year. These additions, along with upgrades at other facilities, mean a vast increase in single-wall tile production.

“2011 is shaping up to be a remarkable year... coming right on the heels of 2010’s record-breaking season. I could not have predicted this kind of sustained growth.” says Prinsco Agricultural Sales Manager, Kent Rodelius. “Prinsco has done everything possible to expand our infrastructure and make the investments needed to meet this additional demand as quickly as possible.”

The Fargo/Moorhead plant is Prinsco’s second new manufacturing facility in twelve months. In February of 2011, they started operations at their new Beresford, South Dakota, plant which is also slated to add a third production line by October of this year. Prinsco has also completed key upgrades that will improve efficiency at all of their Midwestern plants.

“There are always growing pains when you expand quickly, but we are committed to meeting the needs of our loyal customers. As they embrace the benefits of strategic water management, we want to continue being their provider of choice. For that reason, our approach to growth has been cautious and strategic, yet aggressive.” adds Jeremy Duininck, Prinsco Vice President of Operations. “Our investments are focused not only on facilities and equipment, but on the staff support needed for quality control, safety and efficiency. We need to grow without sacrificing the high standards and values that are important to us.”

“This is an exciting time at Prinsco!” comments Jamie Duininck, Prinsco Vice President of Sales. “As we’ve been expanding our facilities, we’ve also been expanding our product line. Most recently we introduced ECOFLO®100 – an industry first. It’s a recycled, dual-wall pipe with an unprecedented 100-year service life. It’s a green-friendly product that will help farmers increase the performance of their critical drainage mains, and also help engineers/contractors feel comfortable using eco-friendly pipe in their commercial storm water and detention projects.” He adds, “Prinsco is really growing right now, in more ways than one.”

Prinsco has been a leader in the agricultural water management industry since 1975, offering quality products engineered to improve crop performance by managing moisture conditions in the soil. Their single- and double-wall HDPE pipe is widely known as “the pipe with the gold stripe.” Prinsco also offers engineered water management solutions for the residential, commercial, highway, recreational turf and storm water quality markets. Prinsco was started in Prinsburg, Minnesota, and has expanded to include plants in Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, California, South Dakota, and now North Dakota.

CASE STUDY: St. Jude creates seamless, watertight storage with INTEGRITY® Tee /GOLDFLO WT®

The St. Jude Medical Center is an 88,000 square foot facility with a large parking lot requiring almost 11,000 cubic feet of stormwater management. Burial depths for this project were minimal, with shallow cover of 2’ from the top of the pipe to the top of the flexible pavement. As always, watertight performance and ease of installation were high priorities to the teams at Fuscoe Engineering and Guerrero Construction.

“When I looked at the project,” said Ed Coccari from KriStar Enterprises, Prinsco Southern California, “I knew immediately that our INTEGRITY Tees would be a perfect fit.”

Prinsco’s premium INTEGRITY Tees are the industry’s first large diameter fittings to be manufactured with no seams. They have none of the traditional welds with the potential to separate and fail over time. In fact, combined with Prinsco’s GOLDFLO WT, INTEGRITY Tees create the industry’s only true watertight detention system. That’s because the GOLDFLO WT’s heavy duty integral bell and spigot work together with the seamless, thick-ribbed INTEGRITY Tees to provide superior watertight connections.

INTEGRITY Tees are also extremely easy to install when paired with our GOLDFLO WT. Contractors can create their own manifolds right on site, saving valuable installation time along with the inconvenience of ordering fabricated fittings.

“I was very attracted to the seamless, watertight qualities of the INTEGRITY Tees,” stated Cal Woolsey from Fusco Engineering.

Guerrero Construction, the project contractor, commented, “The INTEGRITY Tees were easy to install with the GOLDFLO WT pipe. I was very impressed with the time I saved. The structural integrity of both products was obvious as you handled them.”

The underground detention system that Prinsco created for the St. Jude Medical Center easily satisfied the structural loading, detention design and hydraulic requirements of the project. Both the engineer and contractor were extremely happy with the results.

Prinsco Sales Representative added, “I look forward to utilizing the INTEGRITY Tee and  GOLDFLO WT combination on many more detention projects, especially those with critical performance needs. Proper water management demands high performance, watertight joints... no matter what the burial depth. And the latest release of our seamless INTEGRITY Tees offers just that: the industry’s ONLY certified watertight joint system that will perform at burial depths up to 20’.”

Prinsco, Inc. offers a full line of water management solutions for all types of commercial projects, including detention, drainage and stormwater quality. For more information about our Prinsco products, go to www.prinsco.com.
